The most beautiful german books 2025

The most beautiful German books have once again been awarded by the Stiftung Buchkunst.

For each of the numerous submitted books, the typesetting, design, materials, and workmanship were carefully examined and evaluated by the jury. Finally, the 25 titles that received awards were selected. "Buchenwald" by Christian Rothe also received the Stiftung Buchkunst Prize. We congratulate all winners sincerely and are pleased that "Fragments of a True Icon" by Sandra Burkhardt and Francesco Petrarca was bound in PEYVIDA puro, "New Exhaustion Stories" in PEYDUR feinleinen, "A non-history of plants" with SURBALIN glatt in the colour kiwi and "The Craft of Place" with DUCHESSE birkenweiß.

The catalog of the most beautiful books includes all awarded titles along with their evaluations and detailed information on design, typography, materials, and craftsmanship. This year's catalog was designed by Studio Tillack Knöll. We are pleased that the white natural paper SURBALIN seda was chosen as the material.
