The 2xGoldstein team packed all of this in the richly shaped and colourful design of a coating. Round colour areas built up from Euroskala simulate colours from the SURBALIN colour palette. Two sketches appear to have been drawn spontaneously: a person who seems to be immersed in a book and a book finch. Three photographs complement the technical details with the sensory impressions of seeing, touching and hearing. The QR code leads to an audio library: here we collect sounds that are produced when the fingertip is stroked over our versatile materials. For orientation, all visual elements are labelled with letters and named on a label on the back.
We started the printing sample series with the three fabric types DUCHESSE offset, PRINCESSE NOVA and BARONESSE. These were printed by Gutenberg Beuys using the offset process as a double use. Due to the different material properties, the printed image appears differently on each of the fabrics. Each material has its own advantages and special features, which play an important role in deciding on the right cover material for each project.
The prints can be integrated into the Peyer collection folders. The Integralis bookbindery has processed a part of the print run into notebooks and finished some of them with hot foil. The embossing is a so-called Suminagashi, a Japanese marbling technique for paper.
We will be happy to send you the printing samples free of charge on request. You can order a set of three notebooks for a nominal fee of 10 €.
